Summer / Fall

Once the snow melts in Alta, all that moisture creates one of natures most diverse and beautiful wildflower displays that draws people from around the globe to enjoy.  Summer also brings a quieter time to Alta.

Without the hustle and bustle of the amount of skiers here in winter, the wildlife of Alta takes over: moose, coyotes and fox to name a few can be spotted on the hillsides around Alta.

The Alta Lodge is open for lunch on Saturdays from 11-2 and Sunday brunch from 9:30-2.

In an attempt to ease the traffic jam of cars in the Albion Basin, The Town of Alta offers a free shuttle from the upper Albion parking lot at the bottom of the summer road into the Basin during summer months from 9:30am - 4:30pm.  This shuttle is in operation through Labor Day, and possible a weekend or two after that.  It runs continuously between the lower lot, the Sunnyside lot and the Cecret Lake Trailhead.  You may board at any stop and avoid the driving hassle.  The Albion Meadows Trail starts from the lower parking lot and is a wonderful alternative to the sometimes crowded Cecret Lake Trail.
